St. Jane Frances Cemetery Guidelines
  • Visitors are reminded that the grounds of St. Jane Frances Cemetery are sacred. Please respect those buried here and those visiting for prayer with courtesy and appropriate behavior.
  • Flags, wreaths, flowers and other decorative items are permitted one week prior to Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day and Christmas. Items not in vases or on headstones remaining two weeks after each of these dates will be removed and discarded without notice.
  • The church and cemetery are not responsible for any items left which become damaged, lost, stolen or removed for any reason.
  • Glass and border edging, such as rock, bark, etc. is prohibited, since these objects pose a safety risk during mowing.
  • Planting trees, shrubs, flowers, etc. or installing a fence, etc. is prohibited. Items placed around the grave make care difficult.
  • Items such as solar lights, crosses, angels and other decorations that can be hit by a gas trimmer must be removed. Items are acceptable if they can be attached directly to the headstone or base. They cannot protrude outward or be hit by equipment but may be up to three feet high, maximum, directly above the base.
  • Please use the trash containers.

Meeting Minutes
Cemetery History

St Frances Cemetery was established July 11, 1903. The land was purchased from Gerhard and Martha Aschoff. Prior to that, there was a small cemetery behind the old church. In 1972, additional land was purchased from Joe and Lucy Aschoff. The parish priest took care of cemetery affairs until after Father Buehler's death in 1971. Francis Kiser was caretaker of the cemetery for 14 years. Upon Father Furlong's arrival in 1970, a cemetery board was organized. The cemetery board sells grave sites, issues deeds and takes care of all matters of upkeep and improvement.

In recent years, the large cross in the cemetery was moved south to the new section of the cemetery. Old trees were removed and a row of new trees was added to the south edge. A new fence and entries have been erected and an additional concrete driveway was installed in the east section.

In 2014 Paula (Young) Sauser completed extensive work on mapping the St. Frances Cemetery making the above directories and cemetery map possible.  We thank her for her invaluable work!

1n 2023 Babyland was designated and the directory display was added near the cross.
